Hepcats HOMECOMING!
April 18 - April 19
$10.00 – $110.00
(12:00-5:45 PM) SATURDAY at the Hepcat Swing Studio
12:00-1:00 PM – Welcome Back BBQ!
- Get settled in at the studio, grab a bite, and catch up with friendly faces you haven’t seen in a while. Local food truck will be on site to purchase lunch, or you can bring your own!
1:00-2:00 PM – 101: Connection is Key
- Shake off the rust and make your Lindy FEEL great, with that smooth Waterloo style! Review some key basic moves and focus on refining that connection with your partner, the ingredient that sets Waterloo dancers apart from the rest!
2:15-3:15 PM – 201: Micro-Blues
- Waterloo has always been “all about that blues”, so let’s dive into the yummiest, squishiest blues there is! Micro-blues will help continue the focus on feel and connection, body isolation, and the creative conversation between partners.
3:30-4:30 PM – 301: Switching to 6-Count
- We’re bringing back a little of the old days by honoring our connections with WCS and ECS! Learn moves inspired by and borrowed from these other styles, including how to incorporate 6-count moves within your 8-count Lindy.
4:45-5:45 PM – 401: Steals
- Have you ever seen a group of dancers gather in the middle of the floor for a steal dance? Hepcats used to have one at almost every dance, to celebrate a birthday, a swing-iversary, or a visit from an out-of-town dancer. Learn the mechanics and etiquette of stealing or being stolen!
5:45-7:45 PM – Dinner Break: pick your own spot or join us at The Huether (meals not provided)
