Swing Into Spring Lindy Hop Weekend

HOW TO REGISTER: We often have online registration and payment available. If so you should see a registration button at the bottom of this page. If online registration isn't available (or has closed), you can still join us; just register and pay in person at the door!

For class series, online registration closes the day of the first class, however we can usually still take new students at the second class, in person. Generally we can't accept new students after the second class, as it's too difficult to catch up.

Join us for a special weekend lindy hop workshop with instructors Natalia Grane and Luis Arredondo from Toronto/Barcelona! A big event full of dancing and learning! Jump down the page to register now.

About Natalia and Luis:
Natalia Grane and Luis Arredondo started dancing Lindy Hop in Barcelona and from the first moment they fell in love with it. They started social dancing every night of the week, putting into practice on the dance floor everything they learned in class, it became an obsession!

Natalia and Luis first started teaching at Swing Maniacs in Barcelona. In 2012, they decided it was time to open up their own studio here in Toronto (Lindy Hop Revolution). Local lindy hoppers appreciate how, through personal feedback and a strong focus on good technique, Natalia and Luis help their students become the best dancers they can be… while still making classes fun! They love traveling across North America and Europe to compete and attend workshops with the best teachers in the world and to meet new people from other swing scenes. They are constantly pushing themselves to become better dancers.

About the workshop:
Class 1: Triple your way into swing
How does our fundamental footwork and connection translate into real improvised partner dancing? Explore details of how the lead can communicate ideas clearly, and how the follow can listen well and respond but still have their own voice.

Class 2: Lindy groove
Really get into those slower tempos and feel that groove work! We'll focus on using the beat and really stretching and extending moves to make them fit the groove, using key techniques built from connection and stretch.

Class 3: 6 counts + 8 counts = fun
Swing dancing isn't about doing the right or wrong number of counts, it's about communicating with your partner to flow through different moves together. Learn how to mix different moves without pulling or guessing, using clear stretch, frame, and weight transfer.

Class 4: Creative musicality
Now it's time to apply all of these principles from today, to really open up and have fun with the music! Find out how to make the music a key element in your dancing, and how to create more richness from your movement.
